Unboxing Layerloop XE 200: Inside the Industrial 3D Printer Built for the Medical Sector

There’s a moment in the life cycle of an industrial machine that often gets skipped in storytelling: the first contact. The crate, the door opening for the first time, the display lighting up. For us, it’s a step worth telling — and we did.

The new unboxing video of the Layerloop XE 200 is now live on our YouTube channel — the entry-level model of the Layerloop family, dedicated to the medical and podiatry sector. Four and a half minutes to show the machine in person: what’s in the box, how it’s built, and which accessories come with it when you bring it into production.

What’s inside the box

The unboxing starts from a simple idea: the quality of an industrial machine can also be measured by how it’s delivered. Packaging, included accessories and care for construction details say a lot about the product and the company behind it.

In the video, we extract the Layerloop XE 200 from its dedicated packaging, open the front door, power on the integrated touchscreen display for the first time, and explore the print chamber and its key components: extruder, print bed and motion system.

Among the included accessories, we also showcase the filament dry-box, an external dehumidifier that’s essential to preserve print quality over time — especially when working with technical or hygroscopic materials.

Why XE 200 makes a difference in the medical sector

The Layerloop XE 200 is the machine we designed for professionals working in the medical, podiatry and orthopedic field. On the table next to the printer, in the video, we show some real-world applications: orthotics, custom insoles, supportive devices. They’re not random examples — they’re the daily use cases XE 200 was built for.

Three technical elements set it apart:

Compatibility with flexible materials. XE 200 prints rubber and elastic technical materials, bringing out properties like tear resistance, flexibility and torsion — essential features for devices that come into contact with the body.

Desktop size, industrial performance. Designed to fit in a lab or clinical studio, it requires no dedicated infrastructure but delivers professional-grade 24/7 print quality.

Complete workflow. From unboxing to first job sent to the machine, the process is built to be linear: quick setup, dedicated slicing software, certified materials ready to use.

Made in Italy, direct support

Every Layerloop is born in Italy, designed and assembled by SmartLab Industrie 3D, a consociate of Finlogic S.p.A. Group. A choice that translates into direct quality control, technical support with no middlemen, and a fully traceable supply chain.

For those working in the medical sector — where result repeatability and machine reliability aren’t optional — that’s a concrete difference.
